Matches Made in Heaven
And a date for your diary.

Massive thanks to everyone who came to hang at Venice or Toronto over the week. Our Instagram has some pictures and TIFF will be going up soon.

How nice is Venice though
Regarding our event at London Film Festival please pencil for your diaries the 10th October. More on that quite soon.
Matches made in heaven are a rare thing. Like Venice and Toronto at the same time to welcome the Fall festival season in. Without creative pairings we’d all live less enjoyable movie lives. Kubrick/Alcott. Spielberg and John Williams. Tarantino/Richardson. The Coen Brothers. Spielberg and Kaminski. Paul Thomas Anderson and Robert Elswit. And on.
Well, we’ve one for you today to officially whet your whistle this weekend. How about the creator or Mare of Easttown (absolutely essential watching for anyone that hasn’t seen it yet) meets Mark Ruffalo in a new TV show called Task.
So good in fact, its our pick of the week…
Our pick of the week…
Mark Ruffalo plays Tom, an FBI agent drowning in grief after his wife's death and son's imprisonment. His target is Robbie (Tom Pelphrey), a single guardian robbing drug houses to support his dead brother's kids. Both men are shattered by circumstances beyond their control, creating a cat-and-mouse game, we’re kinda rooting for everyone.
Brad Ingelsby avoids typical crime drama clichés by making both leads painfully self-aware. Tom knows he's lost and that his usual trauma counseling techniques aren't working. Robbie brings light-hearted energy home to his kids while carrying the darkness of his night work. The supporting cast shines, particularly Emilia Jones as Robbie's wise-beyond-her-years niece handling domestic duties.
This above standard cop-vs-criminal fare focuses us on family responsibility and the weight of caring for others. The seven-part series asks tough questions about what we owe our loved ones without getting preachy, compassion for characters making impossible choices.
The Delaware County setting is authentic, and the action sequences land hard when they need to. Expect tears whilst questioning everything about justice and survival.

How 433 Investors Unlocked 400X Return Potential
Institutional investors back startups to unlock outsized returns. Regular investors have to wait. But not anymore. Thanks to regulatory updates, some companies are doing things differently.
Take Revolut. In 2016, 433 regular people invested an average of $2,730. Today? They got a 400X buyout offer from the company, as Revolut’s valuation increased 89,900% in the same timeframe.
Founded by a former Zillow exec, Pacaso’s co-ownership tech reshapes the $1.3T vacation home market. They’ve earned $110M+ in gross profit to date, including 41% YoY growth in 2024 alone. They even reserved the Nasdaq ticker PCSO.
The same institutional investors behind Uber, Venmo, and eBay backed Pacaso. And you can join them. But not for long. Pacaso’s investment opportunity ends September 18.
Paid advertisement for Pacaso’s Regulation A offering. Read the offering circular at invest.pacaso.com. Reserving a ticker symbol is not a guarantee that the company will go public. Listing on the NASDAQ is subject to approvals.
