OUR PICK OF THE WEEK
Pools is available in the UK this week - a summer movie for the ages! Do you remember pool hopping as a kid (AKA IE breaking into rich folks mansions and jumping in their pools during the hot hazy heat of the summer months) - if so, this one’s for you.
If, like me, you didn’t do that (but you would have loved to) you can join along for this stylish ride in Sam Hayes debut feature.
This delightfully retro comedy stars Odessa A’zion (Marty Supreme) as Kennedy, the rebellious school dropout who decides school is no loner needed, she pursues a much more adventurous activity, dragging her friends along for some drunken rebellion/breaking and entering. All’s fun and games until she is forced to face her family past by local air conditioning guy-turned-thief Michael (Michael Vlamis).
We’ve known Sam a few years now so are delighted his coming of age film has been picked up for UK release by Vertigo Releasing. We’ll be interviewing Sam about the project next week and posting it right here in this email - its now available to watch in the UK as well as USA.
